Ahhh, I hate talking about myself.
So I am a guy, in his 30’s, who has always been kind of a nerd. Not the scholastically gifted kind, sadly, but the kind that gets really into Star Wars or Anime and then learns a bunch of not particularly useful information. I’ve generously assumed that to be an interest in broader schools of fiction so I got an MA in Creative Writing and then started working online writing material which transitioned into SEO and broader marketing since that’s what I was writing at the time and here we are. My LinkedIN profile and this appearance with Jay Newhouse for Skittle Digital can give a feel for my work there.
I am also a father! My son Oberon was born October 7th 2023, and my daughter Eowyn was born April 3rd 2025. His mum and my partner Karen Kennedy (now Hartill, cos we got married, it was a whole thing_ is also quite well known as a competitive shooter but if you want to know more, I’d suggest looking her up yourself.
For anyone who’s trying to populate a quiz about my life – I’m dual national, half British, half New Zealand(…ish?), when I was born my heart stopped for a distressing amount of time, I have a big-ass scar on my head I didn’t know existed until I got my hair cut short in Japan which immediately endeared me to some co-workers who’d had katana fights in their youth, also riding that revelation, worked in Japan for a while and can usually hold a conversation in Japanese, I’m super into martial arts but also not very good at them so really more of a hobby and my favoured terrain is Forests.
Quick listing of nerd interests
-Anime/Manga (started from watching Dragonball Z as a kid)
-Video-games (not even sure when this started)
-TTRPGs (Began with DnD 3.5 and never looked back)
-Comic Books (Strong supporter of Close Encounters, local hang-out/purveyor of fine wares)
-Fantasy Books, which surprises no one
-Star Wars
-Bad Movies. Specifically, awful movies with no budget and no talent that end up being entertaining despite themselves.
